It’s Red Friday, and we wear red for the ones who aren’t home. Our deployed soldiers are standing a watch most of us will never see. They are on ships, on flight lines, in convoys, and on posts where Friday looks like any other day. Their families are carrying the other half of that duty. Empty chairs. Late calls that don’t always come. Kids who keep asking when. Spouses who hold the house, the bills, the worry, and the wait, and still show up. Military families serve too. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Heavenly Father, cover our troops. Give them steady hands, clear minds, and the strength to finish the mission. Hold their families close. Quiet the fear.
