It’s one half into a preseason game so there not a ton to learn here, but one thing I’m learning fairly clearly so far is that Rez is very obviously a 4 not a 5. He just looks small out there.

Take away from Cowboys Week 4: Dallas has to find a way to get pressure on the QB. The run defense has been extremely solid since week 1. Schotty is god awful at situational football. Dallas needs to take more vertical shots with GP. At least 4 a game. JPJ is the real deal.

If I’m Jerry I’m looking at pass rushers next. A Danniel Hunter type would be an excellent rental option on a team that’s 0-3. He’s expensive, but you can extend JPJ and let Hunter walk at the end of the year then you’re golden.

Ya know what, I’m going to come out and say it… I know they weren’t stellar Sunday, but looking back on it the Dallas defense actually wasn’t atrocious. They had multiple turnover worthy plays on defense and only one bounced their way. If they’re able to fall on the Skat or Dart

Fumbles were probably looking at a win. They just got some unfortunate bounces. If they’re able can keep getting those turnover chances and just tighten up situationally I think we’ll be okay. Part of why I wish our starters would get SOME level of preseason work…

Backup QB battle is over after this one. Milton has looked so sharp this preseason. If I’m Dallas I’m looking at either trading him for significant compensation or extending his contract. He could be the post-Dak era play at QB. Might not be until he’s 30, but he’s improving…
