Most marketing teams run a single query on ChatGPT, see their company listed, and check the box. It is a massive false sense of security. Here is how each major engine actually decides whether to mention your brand:

Perplexity Perplexity works like a fast research analyst. It trusts independent reviews on G2, Reddit, and user forums far more than the claims on your own website. If your external mentions are thin or outdated, Perplexity skips your company.

Testing a generic prompt is a vanity metric. Real enterprise buyers prompt models with specific constraints around tech stack, budget, and compliance. Winning in AI search means making sure your product is verified everywhere these models check.

A founder told me something on a sales call that stuck with me: "If you automate nothing, it's just nothing times nothing." We had looked at his site together. Barely any traffic, almost no content, no mentions in ChatGPT. He asked whether he should use agents now or fix the site first. I told him the agents work either way. Technically true, but it missed his point. A lot of work on a quiet site needs no point of view. An agent can make pages readable for Google and AI crawlers, and it can fill obvious gaps where buyers are searching. What an agent cannot supply is the opinion. Later in the call he said good B2B content has to pick a fight with something that can't fight back, something everyone in the market already hates. AI does not come up with that on its own. You bring the fight. The agent handles everything that doesn't need one. That's why we built an approval step into Arda before anything ships. That step is where the founder's point of view gets in.

As a marketer, I love all of these ideas. It’s better to try something different and edgy to get attention.
60+ creative growth ideas Everyone's running the same growth playbook: high-production launch videos, paid influencers, AEO, social, maybe some (poorly attended) events. Your competitors are in the same channels competing for the same eyeballs. But attention goes to what people don't see coming. The unexpected gets shared for free, remembered for months, and usually costs less than one week of ad spend. @TomOrbach has dedicated his life to collecting creative growth ideas that worked. Every time he sees a startup do something clever, it goes on the list. Here are his 64 best, sorted by what you're trying to do: 1. I want to generate buzz (without paid ads/influencers) 2. I want my launch to make noise 3. I want other people to spread the word for me 4. I want more leads and conversions 5. I want to outsmart my competitors 6. I want customers to pay more (and be happy about it) 7. I want customers to stay forever All 64 ideas: lennysnewsletter.com/p/60-cr…

Built this Arda (@tryardaai) launch video with fable 5.1 and @higgsfield. Astra didn’t work that well
We spent 3 years building an SEO and AEO agency. Then we built agents to do the work clients were paying us for. Today, we’re launching Arda. Marketing agents to help your brand win Google and AI Search. Here’s why we’re doing this:

We’re building these agents to carry the full context of the work forward and improve recursively. Measure → Prioritize → Prepare → Approve → Ship → Learn → Repeat. Each cycle informs the next. The ambition: better actions, informed by previous outcomes.

Understand leverage and smart work. Hard work alone doesn’t produce positive outcomes.
Hard work is a requirement for success but not a guarantee of it. It’s a subset-superset relationship. People who achieve all worked hard. But not all who work hard, achieve. You have to get better.

You need to hunt the best people versus expecting them to join you at early stages.
