Toby Rice (@Shalennial) CEO of ~$30B @EQTCorp (@NYSE : EQT) says *fear* around AI & data centers is obscuring the bigger energy story: “We're seeing a lot of the techniques that were used to help shut down energy development in this country are now being used to shut down intelligence.” AI is driving massive energy demand. Yet it represents only ~40% of new power generation needs. “The problem is that the conversation starts with fear, & people are concerned about what they're going to lose. People need to be concerned with what we can create.” “We're not just playing for data centers. We're playing for abundance in the world.”

The state of compute demand is clear: AI needs more power, more infrastructure, and it needs both fast. I recently sat down with Fossefall CEO Øyvind L. Vesterdal to discuss where that power will come from, and why Norway is so well positioned to turn abundant clean energy into AI infrastructure for Europe. We’re excited to build alongside Fossefall, starting with five Leviathan modular data centers.

Yesterday, West Virginia put out a report on how data centers are affecting the state. How? They're making it rich. Data centers are allowing the state to cut income taxes, fund schools, rebuild sewers and water treatment facilities, curb electrical costs, and generate jobs!
