Following the #Urda disaster that killed at least 69 people, RTVE reports that the Adif controller who authorised the crashed AVE train to resume normal operation has refused to testify. Additionally, the Iryo driver tried twice to restart her train but remained stranded.

Another Iryo train received the same instruction but its driver corrected it in time, proceeding at 30-40 km/h instead of up to 200 km/h. The collision occurred 08:53 AM, five minutes after the Iryo’s second call to the control centre, according to the leaked recordings.

Three men are suspected of causing the fatal explosion in #Plaka by stealing a copper pipe, triggering a natural-gas leak, according to media reports.
The September 25 explosion and building collapse killed six people. The suspects have reportedly been identified by authorities.
A woman was recovered dead from the rubble shortly after 2am.
Five people remain unaccounted for.
Search and rescue operations continue.

He's Spain's Transport Minister, but he's better known for insulting people and blocking them on X than for doing his job.
In 2024, he said Spanish trains were going through their best moment ever.
In January 2026, 46 people died in the Adamuz train crash. He refused to resign and said the chance of it happening again was "extremely low."
Last week, he was on a TV show joking about trains in Spain.
Today, more than 64 people died in another crash on the same line. And again, he refuses to resign.
This morning, he was busy tweeting that the left is morally superior to the right.
