How do you stop a timer, that has accidentally been left running for "a few" hours? 🤔 Looks like @Clockify's answer is: You don't.

ALT Timer shows 1,614:08:54 and as the Stop button is pressed an error message reading "Time entry cannot have duration more than 999 hours." is shown

This is getting more attention than expected, so just a reminder that I have a list of actually good programming books on my website. :') edw.is/good-books/ (I probably read like 300 of them in my 17 years of programming :D)

RIP PDFsharp & MigraDoc The only pre-LLM era C# PDF library that *was* permissively licensed. With v6.5.0 they go the AGPL + commercial license route like a bunch of other PDF libraries already do. docs.pdfsharp.net/General/Hi…

I just published libwinui! 🎉 Give your C++ app the look of Windows 11, while shipping a single and small executable. No XAML, no .NET, no runtime to install, just C++23 and around 1 MB. libwinui.com

Or if you'd rather travel back in time, pick an approximation of one of Windows' older looks, from 7 and XP back to 95 and even 1.x.

Had to sort some images yesterday where the EXIF timestamps didn't line up. Doing file renaming isn't exactly fun. This was the output and all in a single 793KB executable. 😁

I have spent 23 years documenting the global LED transition of city lighting from space. Across my 4 missions to the ISS, I have photographed every major city on Earth, building a data set of the gradual replacement of sodium vapor lighting with LEDs. The warmer, yellow-orange of gas discharge lamps has been phased out worldwide to multi-colored LEDs, citing energy savings and environmental reasons. Widespread adoption has markedly changed the way our cities look from orbit, and as many have pointed out, how they feel to those on the ground! Here is a collection of the most striking before-and-after photos I have observed:
Miami, Florida as seen from the ISS in 2025. This city has changed tremendously since my previous mission, replacing its yellow-orange sodium vapor lights with multi-colored LEDs. The city grid really pops! This LED takeover of city lighting is world wide.

Can we please not normalize the wrong use of the word “exploit”? You don’t “find” exploits in software, nor can software “contain exploits” the model can find. Vulnerabilities are found. Exploits are written, crafted, engineered, but they aren’t found in software. This irks me.
Our Black Hat talk on the OpenAI-Hugging Face incident is now live on youtube. This is a watershed moment for the industry. I encourage all defenders to watch, consider how attack dynamics will imminently change, and plan for accelerating defense. youtube.com/watch?v=87DyyMV0…
