I'm on a call where yet another SaaS company doesn't realize the world they're in. Customers now expect high customization. If a company can't figure out how to offer this, especially in the AI age, they're not going to survive.

I had a thought just now that all the work I've done throughout my career is meaningless now. Then I caught myself. 99% of all the code I've written has been replaced or thrown away. Everyone I know says the same thing. That's just the way it is for people writing code. I was never paid to write code. I'm paid to solve problems.

I'm realizing there are some business owners who think they can replace all or most of their employees with AI. What they need to understand is this: if they can replace their employees with AI, their customers can replace their business with AI. The truth is they need to be investing in teaching their employees how to become more productive and efficient with AI so that they can better serve the customer.

I start a new job today. I had 2 offers. No leetcode. Only 2 rounds of interviews each. 20% pay increase. Fully remote. If you think I'm plugging my job boards (see profile), Not this time. There is only one reason My network. Even though I'm an introvert. A homebody. In the past, scared sh*tless to meet new people. (Still scares me some.) What I realized is you don't have to be the life of the party to have a strong network. Charisma is overrated. I've learned some tricks and truths over the years. I've always wanted to write a short book. Would any tech professionals be interested in a book about how to grow a solid network? So you'll never be unemployed again?

don't throw away your old apple devices! this is an iPad mini 1st gen from 2012! it can't run anything, modern apps dropped iOS 9 long ago. so what do you do with this hardware + Claude... heh once you get ssh access, you can build any app you want. mine is now a native Home Assistant wall panel. (HA app doesn't support iOS 9, and the web dashboard breaks in old Safari) and the best part: you can grab one on ebay for ~$30-50, same price as a popular esp32 IoT board :)
