Penny Mordaunt allowed to stand for Conservatives at next election despite reports ex-defence secretary had been blocked. It follows reports that the ex-defence secretary and other senior Tories had been blocked from standing again due to their ‘wet’ views and opposition to the UK leaving the European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR). She has previously clashed with Mrs Badenoch over her stance on women’s rights – declaring in 2018 that ‘trans men are men and trans women are women’ – and is seen as a ‘wet’ Tory for opposing policies such as ditching Net Zero and leaving the ECHR. This is not right.
18 months ago Dan Norris, Labour MP for North East Somerset, was arrested after allegations of rape we’re made by three women.
4 months ago the police file on Norris,66, was sent to the CPS.
Since then nothing.
Justice delayed is justice denied for Norris and for the constituents, the absurd delay means they haven’t had a voice in the Commons since the arrest.
That is not acceptable and is frankly undemocratic.
The CPS needs to pull their finger out.

Then I had a chat with Kemi and reminded her that when she was fighting Robert Jenrick for the leadership, SHE TOO supported the ECHR.
That did the trick and now we are together saying anything that you want to hear so as to get us re-elected. Just don’t expect us to carry it out, darlings…

A ten year deal gave Sheikh Mansour’s ADUG first refusal on council land around Ancoats and New Islington. Local developers said they were effectively given the “red carpet treatment” while others were held back.
And the council’s own review later found “weaknesses in documentation, monitoring and assurance.”
Preferential access. Red carpet treatment. Weak oversight… yeah we know what this looks like.

🙄 The “King of the North” apparently had a really comfortable setup down south…
He reportedly claimed £16,644 in taxpayer funded expenses linked to buying and renovating his London flat, including stamp duty, legal fees and a new kitchen.
And according to reports the way the Dolphin Square payout was put through his parliamentary allowance also meant he avoided an estimated £6,665 capital gains tax bill.
Then after the expenses rules changed, he kept the flat, rented it out, while reportedly claiming around £17,000 a year from taxpayers to rent another London property nearby.
Imagine campaigning for rent freezes while collecting rent on a London flat and having taxpayers cover another one nearby. You genuinely couldn’t write the irony.

While British pensioners have their winter fuel support ripped away, the state provides taxpayer funded religious gear to people who entered illegally from France.
The data also obliterates the lie that arrivals are mostly women and children: over 10,000 male clothing packs were issued compared to barely 2,600 for women.
People break into the country and get treated to full hospitality on your dime the second their feet touch the sand.
