I’m seeing slide decks created using AI tools everywhere. It’s quite easy to spot them. They look awesome. I remember how hard my brain used to hurt when I saw corporate PowerPoint slides. Thank god we are past that.

But the content in most of these slides seems fake to me. The arguments seem unconvincing. And there are always too many words. I wouldn’t buy anything sold via such slides.

the hardest part of building a startup isn’t the long hours or the building.
it’s having no positive feedback loop.
you can do everything right for months and still get almost nothing back telling you to keep going.
that’s hard. And I really admire founders can keep building like that.

Don't be sad if your startup wasn't selected by YC. YC changes its mind all the time. For example, if your idea was 'an AI-powered assistant for doing customer outreach' then you'd most likely have made it to the Summer 2024 batch

This is the second time in the last 6 years that senior engineers have suddenly become very important. The last time was during the pandemic. Does this indicate that software engineering is becoming a mature occupation - like doctors or teachers or lawyers
Notice how the AI labs who are the most “AI-pilled” and have unlimited AI tokens to use per employee keep hiring and hiring, and are not laying off?
Heard from a company investing big on AI which did big layoffs due to wanting to have fewer engineers thanks to AI that… they realized they need more engineers, ASAP.
Who would have predicted, huh?

Claude Code was a terribly named product. Putting 'code' in the name doesn't mean much when the product does way more than writing code. But everyone followed the mistake - Codex, zcode, etc. What could be a good name for this category of products?
