My wife and I talk about this all the time. The professionalism in softball is non existent. The hiring processes at some institutions are baffling to say the least. The people that suffer are the actual good coaches and players.

This is now the issue with NIL. Players are making significantly more than they ever will at the professional level. You’re going to continue to see players hold out because they don’t know how actual business works at the pro level. You don’t call the shots anymore homie.

🥎 725 entered the portal in 2025, 30% (275) did not matriculate at another NCAA school (any Division).
🥎 25% of those who were on aid when they transferred did NOT receive aid at their new school.
