This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss.
The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes.
Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment.
To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.

🐉 Here’s a bit of Dragonlance history I absolutely love…
In 1984, Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman took the stage at Gen Con for an early public reading of Dragons of Autumn Twilight, joined by several others involved with Dragonlance.
Among them was Janet Deaver-Pack, performing Tasslehoff Burrfoot.
And her performance may have helped change the kender themselves.
Early in Dragonlance’s development, kender were envisioned as something closer to “savage, warrior children.”
Then Janet started playing Tas.
Jeff Grubb later remembered her portrayal simply as:
“Cute. Extremely cute.”
Her Tasslehoff made such an impression that it helped reshape how the creators themselves thought about kender.
And the incredible part?
The footage still exists.
So here you can watch Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman and the Dragonlance crew onstage at Gen Con 1984…

🚨BREAKING: A former Oregon school principal who reportedly responded to Charlie Kirk’s murder with “Oh, too bad, good riddance” has now been sentenced to more than 5 years in prison in a child sexual abuse material case.
The former Rainier Junior/Senior High School principal was already on paid leave over his comments about Kirk when police arrested him.
Investigators said they found at least 31 images of child sexual abuse material on his devices—including material involving an infant.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and was sentenced to 5 years and 1 month behind bars, followed by sex-offender registration requirements.
From celebrating someone’s murder to possessing some of the most vile material imaginable.
