Agreed but I will take it a step further, if you don’t have ID in modern times then you can’t participate in society and I don’t want you to vote
Exactly. This is not difficult to understand. ID is required for EVERYTHING from auto insurance, buying/renting a home, cars, hotels, airlines, bars/restaurants, cell phones, credit cards, medical, banking, etc. Literally everywhere. We are being fed a false narrative that this somehow doesn't magically apply to voting, which is insane.

Exactly. How is this even up for debate? You need proper government-issued ID to board a plane, open a bank account, buy a car or gun, rent a hotel, pick up a prescription, or do just about anything official in modern society. But voting - the single most important duty of citizenship - somehow shouldn't require it? That makes zero sense & destroys trust in the system.
Require in-person voting with ID. If the real concern is access, then states should provide free IDs to anyone who needs one, no excuses. Problem solved. I've voted in person plenty of times…it's not burdensome. No accountability equals no integrity.

If they are free, then it's ok. If not, then it's essentially a voter tax, which would be illegal.
