Some personal news… I can’t thank @Queensberry and @FrankWarren enough for changing my life ❤️ I’ve figured that if I didn’t try and make my own way now and see how far I can go, I would regret it in years to come. It’s quite hard to put this all into words but as I begin my final fight week as a member of staff, I just wanted to publicly thank the company and the people who gave me an opportunity and platform I could only dream of. Looking forward to #HrgovicAllen and then let’s see what the future holds 💫

I know it was only against a 46 year old Marcus Portman, but James DeGale looked good tonight.

I can see why Netflix would want the most famous combat sports promoter in the world involved in trying to help them make an ROI for the $$$ they are putting up. I can also see why the promoter of one of the fighters on the show doesn’t want him involved, as they have a bitter public feud, an apparent signed contract to the contrary, and a toxic landscape where any perceived concession will be a difficult PR storm. This is going to be a case of who blinks first. The promoter of one of the fighters on the show, or the organisers financing the event.

I guess if that’s what the people paying the money want, but it goes against an apparent signed contract… then it’s going to be quite the stalemate. I doubt Netflix would have been aware of such boxing politics and promoter egos and even contract specifics when they put the money up for the fight. They probably just assumed it would go like the others they put on. I don’t know who is going to be seen to blink first but if nobody does, then we will lose the fight because of promoter egos.
It’s gone past that now dev. We finally got over that hurdle. Now it’s Dana being involved. Which makes 0 sense and I done see why the boxing world want it either.

If it’s true that nobody in America cares, then I could understand why Netflix may want a famous American face going to market trying to make them care.
Replying to @devsahni
But every American boxing pundit says no one in America caree

From the boxing events on Netflix, I’m pretty sure it’s: Mike Tyson v Jake Paul - MVP AJ v Jake Paul - MVP Taylor v Serrano 3 - MVP Fury v Makhmudov - Goldstar with SELA Canelo v Crawford - Zuffa Boxing with SELA So Dana White has been involved in one before I believe.
How many of those fights you mentioned was Dana involved in again?

In theory, the more promoters there are, the bigger the megaphone to tell people to watch the fight on Netflix. Netflix clearly feels the US market is a key one and probably wants a famous, successful American promoter talking to the US audience about the fight and using his usual promotional levers to maximise viewership. I don’t know how it will play out, but adding promoter egos into the mix has amazingly made the fight even bigger.

What is your opinion & views on this. What do you think will happen?

Tyson Fury has said in a new interview that it was initially in his contract that Dana White could not be involved in his fight with Anthony Joshua. The same as in Joshua’s contract. However, Tyson took that out of his contract “I want him involved. Two baldies together.”

Gassiev in pure hell.
Breaking: Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will fight for the WBA 'super' heavyweight title, @ringmagazine has learned. Fury and AJ will both be looking to regain a heavyweight title. Usyk remains The Ring champ while Murat Gassiev is the current holder of the WBA's 'regular' heavyweight title.
