🧵Once in a lifetime sappy post from me but I found myself crying a little bit in my room (in a stoic and manly way of course).
There's just so much fucking love at LAN man.

Feeling this every time I see Riftbound mentioned, seeing our card art, like watching an alien puppeting the skin suit if your long dead family
they really nailed the sense of dread and horror with the Fiddlesticks cards by making them have no flavor text or sound effects. it's like hearing the voice of a departed loved one and thinking about how much youve missed them and then suddenly realizing its a dead person moving

UK Melee absolutely CANNOT relate
betamax and vcr killed porno theaters
home consoles killed arcades
rollback netcode killed fighting game locals
human nature over time will always magnetize toward cold, homebound, solitary goons, even if goons shared with a community undoubtedly enrich the soul

The long and short of it is, the reason the NLC weren't paying people is because there wasn't any money, and there can't ever actually be any money. Esports isn't actually as big as the echo chamber would have you believe 1/2

UK League people, all I'm saying is that the Melee scene has no clown companies behind the scenes, no delusions of grandeur around the scope or scale of the community, and no late payments

The Tower Format always paid me on time what can I say
(Although technically, we were only officially informed that the company was packing up via a Google Calendar invite to the Christmas party, but that's a banger so we shouldn't hold it against the format)

Alright boys it's a bit of a Mickey Mouse Baus season:
First blood Sion lvl 2, but he's Sion so he gets the whole wave, then he TPs right back.
Solo him again for a fat 195 gold, he gets the whole wave.
Die and give a BOUNTY of 127g, he gets wave + plate
2027 will be better

You know, cartoons really led me to believe that getting stuck in a Chinese finger trap with my arch nemesis was something that was gonna come up a LOT more in my day to day life
