We instituted an official AI Writing Policy at @Clay.
Massive thanks to @sophiebits on our engineering team who wrote this.
Originally this was just for eng, but other teams found it so helpful we expanded it company-wide.
Here are the four guiding principles:
1. You must stand behind every idea and sentence
It is your responsibility to make sure that the entire document is representative of your own thoughts before you share it.
2. Writing is thinking
Spending time on the writing process teaches you more about your topic. If you circumvent this process, you will walk away with a poorer understanding of the subject matter.
3. More time should be spent writing a document than consuming it
If you generate a document from a short prompt then ask your readers to go through the longer output, you are disrespecting their time. They can talk to ChatGPT themselves if they want to.
4. Longer is not better
AI makes it easy to generate long docs, and it loves padding them with sentences that say nothing. If you're producing docs from a short prompt, consider just sharing the prompt.

I loved Breaking Bad while it was on, but I haven't rewatched it since whereas Mad Men is infinitely rewatchable because it balances the heavy/dramatic with the mundane/funny in such an easy, confident way that never overwhelms the viewer and instead rewards them on repeat views

He kind of got into investing by accident. He landed in merger arbitrage and special situations work, found out he loved it, and in 1988 joined Seth Klarman's famous Baupost Group.
He spent a decade there learning deep value investing before striking out on his own.

value of vast majority of consumer facing ai assistant startups will go to zero. users wont auth enough third party services to make them useful and they certainly wont pay for them. market simply isnt there.
No one is going to care about the underlying AI model soon, especially for consumers. The models are already good enough for most of what people need. What consumers want is for AI to be useful, easy to access, and FREE or bundled into something they already pay for.
Clayton Christensen and Michael Raynor described this shift in the figure below which is in their book The Innovator’s Solution. When a product isn’t good enough, performance wins. Once it is good enough, convenience and cost start to matter more.
The winning question may soon be less Whose model is best? and more Why would I pay separately for this?
