So who is it you want to get rid of? I’m now home after 5 weeks in our local hospital being cared for by a myriad of different people.
Is it A from Nepal who carefully fed me when I was unable to feed myself? Or her friend B.
Is it M a gently spoken man from India?
distressed in the middle of the night.
I know it isn’t the many caring and professional staff who are ‘white’.
What’s that - ‘but they have an accent’ - so do I and if I spoke with it you’d struggle to understand me.
Using someone’s name and a smile go a long way.
I’m extremely grateful to all the staff who cared for me irrespective of their family origins and the colour of their skin. I was very seriously unwell and I am now home thanks to them.
Today we visited the 1620s house & garden near Coalville. What a gem. Excellent guided tour by very knowledgeable guide, lovely garden plus lunch and homemade cake.
Having seen a lot of vitriol aimed at those who claim PIP over the last couple of days it seems that a lot of people need to realise that they are just 1 accident or health diagnosis away from disability.
I’d much rather not have terminal cancer and PIP.
Mini break day 2.
A visit to Snowshill Manor NT a very different sort of place crammed with the eclectic collections of Charles Wade. Far too much stuff inside to photograph so I focused on the musical instruments of course which included several serpents and a square piano.
Mini break day 1.
A visit to Chastleton House (NT) a Jacobean house and gardens - interesting place left very much as it was when the NT took it over. Lots of bees and butterflies in the garden.
A little wander round Stow on the Wold plus a cake stop.
Very tired today after the weekend at Warwick Folk Festival but it was definitely worth it. I did 2 tune workshops - the first time I’d played 🎻 since about October due to the side effects of the chemo I was on. I was rather emotional after the first one.
We used a packet of mixed wildflower seeds to plant up a couple of small ‘tubs’ on the patio. So far wild mustard, wild radish, buckwheat, lacy phacelia, cornflower & mallow. I’m enjoying watching the many different bees, hoverflies and butterflies which have been on the flowers.
There are so many things that I could be getting done having been unable to do them during the heatwave of the last few days but instead I am sitting on the patio enjoying the fresh air and the breeze watching various butterflies, bees, hoverflies etc visiting our flowers.
This morning’s moth visitors in the garden. The box tree moth decided my arm was a suitable resting place for a few moments after I’d disturbed it dead heading the plant it was resting in.
