Veterans from the USS New Jersey, the most decorated battleship of the U.S. Navy, visited the Nebraska Vietnam Veterans Memorial yesterday afternoon. Included in the reunion group was Paul Robbins, a 101 year old WWII Veteran of the ship. Earlier this week, the department was visited by a man who came in for assistance with a scam he had uncovered. Over the course of the conversation, we realized that not only was he one of the "D"s in @td2engineering, but in fact, the Robert Dreessen who served as Papillion's City Engineer from 1974-2010 -- check out his name on that 2005 plaque that hangs in our entryway! 😊 @td2engineering still remains a valued partner of the Papillion community. #policingwithpride #feelslikehome #community

Meet Our City Staff - Rachel Buckwalter is the Digital Library Supervisor at the Papillion Landing. Rachel has been with the City of Papillion for over 9 years, starting out at the Sump Memorial Library circulation desk. Rachel’s responsibilities include overseeing spaces in the Landing, managing part-time employees and helping visitors. She is involved with youth gaming tournaments and the Makerspace, where she assists visitors in using the Cricut machine, laser cutter, 3D printer and large format printer. One of Rachel’s favorite things about her job is the people around her – both her coworkers at Papillion and members of the community. She finds it rewarding to be able to provide a space that is open to everyone and enjoys hearing positive feedback after a visit or event. When she’s not on the job, Rachel likes to read, watch TV, play video games and hang out with friends. She is an avid collector of Funko Pop! Figures and currently owns over 100! Thank you, Rachel, for helping provide spaces and experiences for the Papillion community to enjoy!
