In a nutshell: DHH is new to Linux. He originally tried an opinionated config with Ubuntu (Omakub) and it didn’t really take off. He then moved to arch which was more successful because it’s more marketable and has things like the AUR, (which isn’t always a good thing imho)

I’m gonna be honest, mate: I don’t understand that reasoning. The NixOS community is vast. Why would you not use a technology because of a few folk you disagree with? I’m pretty sure the K8s community has a few as well.
