Before AI, meme culture wasn’t a prompt. It was a skill.
A handful of creators laid the foundation for the meme culture we know today. Something that took 3 hours to create 5 years ago takes 15 seconds today. They wrote the jokes, recorded the voices, edited the videos, made the memes, and posted relentlessly… often every single day, so the rest of us had something real to laugh at and share.
There were no shortcuts. No AI doing the work. Just creativity, time, talent, and a hell of a lot of effort.
Without those creators putting in the work, much of today’s meme culture wouldn’t exist in the first place.
These accounts built it the hard way.
If I missed somebody, please add them in the comments.
And please understand, I’m not talking badly about anyone who uses AI. I’m merely shouting out the legends of the trade who were doing this long before AI came along.
