It handles a lot of the REST stuff for you, so you just have to implement endpoints but it doesn't have a ton of extensions so things like data storage has to be done by you. I used it in an enterprise environment and liked it. Comment by anubisreal: I thought I was the only one but then I saw your comment. So I stumbled upon Dropwizard almost a year ago and I have to say - it's very no Hogwarts at all. It does have a super explicit dependency injection system though as there are no annotations. As a Spring prophet myself, I found it really hard at first to get used to it. But after a while I got used to it. Even after some time, I was again in a Spring context (pun intended) and guess what - it felt like I've developed a control - oriented mindset, from Dropwizard.
