My suspicion is that a post-filibuster world has voters of all parties far more cautious about the type of candidates they elect but I very well may be proven wrong
It could arguably be a good thing for bipartisanship (if you value that). Voters may try to split congress
tbh i hope the dems nuke the filibuster so we can all see the horrors it would cause, nobody holds senate control forever. democrats would get to pass their preferred legislation at what cost when control is lost?

The Senate race is by far the marquee matchup that everyone is focused on. It’s possible that Paxton drags down Abbott instead of the other way around where Abbott lifts up Paxton.
Nobody is fired up to vote for a fourth term of Abbott. Everyone is showing up to vote for Senate as their main focus.
I think an Abbott +2 Talarico +2 result is not crazy to imagine. Abbott wins all the Republican leaning voters who can’t stomach Paxton, but all other voters vote straight ticket. I do think that Talarico needs to win by at least 4 points for Hinojosa to have a real shot.
I don’t think that’s likely to happen, but polling suggests it’s possible! Especially if there is a small polling error that underestimates Dems in Texas like 2018.

I’ve been waving the flag of “idk if the next D Senate majority will remove the filibuster” and this isn’t helping.
Even in the perfect case where we hit 55 seats in 2028, I’m not sure if we have enough votes.
