15 years ago, I got down on one knee and asked Heidi to marry me for the first time. About a year ago I realized that it shouldn't be the last time. Marriage is not a finish line or a destination. It is a journey that you have to re-commit to every single day. Do I have to drop to one knee every couple weeks just to show her my commitment? I hope not. I hope my actions already show it. But, the physical gesture is just as much for me as it is her. A reminder to myself to stop everything else I'm doing and say out loud, "will you marry me, today?"
Spoiler alert: she said yes. Again.
