Coaches, it’s amazing how so many players do not understand how to watch tape. We all have our personal styles, templates in our meetings. What i have learned, personalize your templates to each player, how he learns. More one on one meetings definitely helps 🙏🏾

Coaches, get around good coordinators. Good coordinators can help assistants get better. With better coaching, the players are getting better. Structure, Organization, IQ, Expectation, Development, are good traits. Good leadership with talented coaches, good formula 🙏🏾

How do we know if players really want it? If they are not harassing us to get better, do they really want it? Players have a tough decision to make. Trust us, or trust themselves? Phone calls, extra meetings, extra drills. It works best when we can do it together 🙏🏾

I was talking to a colleague about “The Formula”. What’s the best formula for today’s kids? My opinion, new school and old school. New school, genuine communication. Old school, genuine accountability. Perfecting these with a genuine approach, kids will respond. Keep it real🙏🏾

Players/Coaches, we never know when it’s our time. Everyday is an interview, i was once told. Whatever plan or formula we have must be genuine, to ourselves and others. The fake stuff, the agendas, betrayals, will always catch up to us. Winning is hard, stay true🙏🏾

I was talking to some coaches about players, “Is He A Guy”? Trying to differentiate if some players like football, love football, or play because they are good at football. I read this, being addicted to results is an important trait to have. To be a guy, this matters 🙏🏾

In all my years, i believe we have to acknowledge this, are we respected by our players? There are different types of respect, respect the coach as a person, and respect the coaching. In a perfect world, we would like to accomplish both. Be real, work at coaching 🙏🏾

All my years of coaching, I have paid attention to this, “The Rabbits Foot”. What it means is this, the universe has touched them. Detroit Lions, Keith Abney is that guy. I have been around this kid for three years, i am a believer. He will figure it out. So happy for him 🙏🏾
