Your REAP amendment would have helped Rural Americans who relied on government pre-approvals to build cost-saving energy projects but were stuck holding the bill when the reimbursements were suddenly frozen.
While the amendment did not advance, we appreciate your leadership and urge you to continue fighting for a solution.

"More than 200 major clean energy projects were canceled, closed, or downsized between the beginning of 2025 and May 2026, according to a report from E2, a nonprofit that tracks the clean energy economy, and the research and consulting firm BW Research. That includes factories like a $1.4 billion battery plant that Natron Energy planned to build in North Carolina—creating more than 1,000 jobs—and a $2.57 billion battery plant that Freyr Battery, now called T1 Energy, planned to build in Georgia. Other canceled initiatives span solar and wind farms, and EV facilities, including Stellantis’s scrapped $3 billion battery plant and parts hub in Illinois."

According to new modeling by E2 and BW Research, the OBBBA has directly threatened grid reliability and your monthly power bill.
-The US has lost 10GW of solar capacity, 3.75GW of wind capacity, and over 9GW of battery storage from project cancellations since 2025.
-That foregone power could have powered ~3 million homes — equivalent to powering all the homes in Massachusetts.
At a time when electricity demand is skyrocketing and energy prices are pinching household budgets, pulling the plug on cheap domestic power makes the grid challenge harder.
We need more reliable power, not less. Cancelling these projects leaves our grid vulnerable and consumers footing the bill.
