There’s a reason many Columbia students think protesting is more important than their (very expensive) academics.
Case in point: a Columbia *faculty and staff* hosted vigil for Mahmoud Khalil and Mohsen Mahdawi.
Over a year ago in @TheFP, I wrote about Mohsen Mahdawi––a Columbia activist with family in the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. According to police reports, he tried to buy a gun in Vermont, and told the store owner he “used to build modified 9mm submachine guns to kill Jews while he was in Palestine.”
So I'm not terribly shocked by his 2010 post where he says "very soon, we shall annihilate the Jews."

The fact they are hosting this *after* Mahdawi's violent antisemitic sentiments were made public says a lot about the "faculty and staff" involved.
