Eva Chipiuk’s -@echipiuk book, "Reconnect to Canada: A Guide for Empowered Canadians," is exactly the kind of resource that Canadians need in the face of a government that increasingly disregards personal freedoms and democratic principles. The book is a rallying cry for those who believe in the power of the individual and the importance of questioning authority—a critical stance in a country where the government seems to think it knows best. What Eva does well is break down the complexity of Canada’s political and legal systems into digestible parts. She doesn’t just tell Canadians to get involved; she gives them the tools to do so. This is crucial in an era where the Trudeau government, supported by the NDP, continuously overreaches and enacts policies that strip away individual rights under the guise of the “greater good.” She makes it clear that democracy is not just about voting every few years. It’s about ongoing civic engagement and holding elected officials accountable—something that’s woefully lacking in today’s Canada. By explaining the historical foundations of Canada’s governance, she highlights the importance of understanding these structures to prevent the kind of power grabs we’ve seen under Trudeau’s reign, from draconian COVID measures to environmental policies that stifle economic liberty. The book’s deep dive into the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is particularly timely. Eva rightly points out how Section 1, the Limitation Clause, has been abused to justify almost any government overreach. The Oakes Test, meant to protect Canadians from unreasonable government actions, has often been interpreted in a way that favors the state rather than the individual. This is a critical insight that Canadians must understand if they hope to push back against the erosion of their rights. Her use of historical cases, like the "Persons Case" and the "Big M Drug Mart" decision, is a reminder of how important it is to view the Constitution as a living document, meant to protect citizens from government overreach—not as a tool for those in power to manipulate at will. In a time when many Canadians feel powerless, Eva's book is both a call to arms and a manual for how to reclaim that power. It’s a must-read for anyone who believes that Canada should remain a land of true freedom, not one where freedoms are rationed out by an overbearing state. If you want to push back against the swamp that’s taken root in Ottawa, this book gives you the knowledge and the confidence to do it. Reconnect to Canada isn’t just a guide—it’s a necessary step toward reclaiming Canada’s identity as a free and democratic a.co/d/3SUJ9IL

To effectively save🇨🇦 does not necessarily entail tossing the baby out with the bathwater or to reform 🇨🇦exactly like🇺🇸🇫🇷, but after 3 yrs of flag, sign waving & bullhorn moaning from the outside it's time now to get a party & people on the inside whom are willing to tweak a few🇺🇸🇫🇷republican things such as getting rid of Art 1. Sec. 1 divine right, real & meaningful "unalienable rights, & citizen election of Senators, & maybe even judges, top cops rather than minons of the👑appointments of senators ect... in order to put actual power & control really in the hands of🇨🇦's citizens SO OF COURSE AL THE POWERS THAT BE NOW DON'T WANT THAT AS IT'LL TAKE THE POWER & CONTROL OUT OF THEIR HANDS....SO Bottom line is🇨🇦's citizens have to get someone on the inside to demand those tweaks or nothings ever going to change🙄

Hi @echipiuk, How do *Reconnect to Canada*'s democratic participation ideas intersect with the elements of @AxelHonneth's democratic will-formation ideas as given at @UChicagoLaw and in *Freedom's Right The Social Foundations of Democratic Life*? m.youtube.com/watch?v=wslFRj…

Dialogue Over Division. I can relate. Hence my setting this @HumanityEnabler account up fully a decade ago here. Then of necessity focusing elsewhere. Like getting permanently banned from LinkedIn. But I was able to ultimately get that reversed via “strategic insurance”, despite no formal appeals process. Focusing building this account first, making up for lost time, then later also my personal one, @SteveMarzocco, set up a dozen years ago. Geez does time fly!
