Absurd is the right word! Instead of Sisyphe committing suicide as it is suggested by his discussion of the meaningless Camus concludes that we must imagine him happy! ---- I remember the discussion after his premature untimely death. The word suicide came up very often.

His could be a very manageable punishment. Depending upon the actual timing and rules of his "descent" from the mountain top-his version of vacation time. Can he take the long way down? Can he dally. Smell the flowers. Nap? His return to the office Monday AM no doubt sucked.

I feel sorry for Hades: "every day, of course, he gets a tiny bit fitter. So, in order to make sure the boulder rolls away precisely at the summit, I have to compensate for that by rising before him in the morning and making the mountain a tiny bit taller” youtu.be/CdCUy1oFlso?si=jcWn…

I think Nietzsche said something similar. Talked about being, "an affirmer."

Sisyphus, Prometheus, Taygetus, the Ancients sure knew how to put their mountain peaks to good use.
