Even though I think pearlina is overall a really healthy relationship, I do like that they have some flaws it makes them feel more believable
It seems like one of those flaws is that Pearl sometimes doesnt care "enough" (according to Marina at least)

In my hc Marina had a crush on Pearl from the beginning but Pearl only started having a crush after Octo Expansion when she thought about how important Marina is to her and how scary it would be to lose her (and learning Marina is an octorian also made her feel closer to Marina)
