He never demanded minutes. Just respect. He didn’t even oppose the original plan of him playing only 2 games and siting on the bench for the other 2. Even Ancelloti and Poch have stated something similar in the past. You don’t treat great players that way. It is disrespectful.
Why is that part less important? Because I think they stopping him from retirement is less important. The fact that you’ve been promised minutes does not mean you should be thrown in the game when the game doesn’t need you at a particular time. Isn’t that in game management?

All this aside, I do believe the best decision will be for Ronaldo to retire from the national team. If I were him, I wouldn’t even return for a farewell game with this squad.
