The first beta is already pretty far along and, honestly, I'm loving how it's turning out! 🤯
Before releasing it, there's one thing I really want to try that could completely change the experience: adding a first-person mode so you can drive the taxi from inside the car in VR. 🚕🥽
If I can get it working the way I want, it's going to be absolutely crazy. 🔥

XREAL Aura is the best Optical See Through AR/VR HMD I have tried. Steam Frame is the most open VR HMD I have tried. Apple Vision Pro is the most cohesive product VR HMD I have tried. Meta VR Glasses seem to be a great quality video passthrough device. Excited for PICO Space Pro.

I don't have a Steam Frame yet but even without the hardware, Valve's engineers working on Proton, Lepton, FEX and optimizing Half-Life Alyx for an ARM based chipset have done impressive work on the software side of things that brings wins to anyone with a standalone VR headset.

Word on the streets is that the Sosig are angry and only VR players can use realistic weapons to defeat them. Hot Dogs, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades 2 is launching on November 12 on Meta Quest with a Steam VR launch following in 2027.

It is a bit crazy that this works at all! I have installed Half-Life Alyx on my Quest 3S and it runs pretty well until it runs out of available memory on the headset around 10 minutes or so in. I played through the intro sequence until Alyx is captured. github.com/alferiko/alyx-jai…
