Kit Kat of the week: white. Weirdly not one I've ever featured here, and they're interesting in that there's almost a savory quality to the wafer, almost like a Triscuit, and it's pretty nice. The coating is, of course, regular, sweet white chocolate. @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: Chunky Funky. Aside from the fun name and design, this is basically just a white and milk chocolate swirl. It's a Chunky bar, so there's plenty of chocolate coating, with a good mix of creamy and bright flavors. Exciting it's not, though. @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: sakura & roasted soybean powder. These mainly just taste pink—like those pink frosted cookies. Maybe a hint of florality, some nuttiness, but mostly nondescript, sweet, pink. Not very different from the sakura mochi flavor from a few years back? @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: cacao 72%. I like most dark chocolate Kit Kats and this one is no exception! Lightly bitter, not too sweet, a somewhat harder chocolate coating. Sophisticated eating, even if I miss the cacao nibs from the previous 72% offering. @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: Amaou strawberry. These are made with super-premium strawberries grown in Fukuoka, and they do taste different than your regular strawberry Kit Kat: sweeter, a little rounder, just a hint of tart on the end. Not like Pocky at all, for comparison. @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: Tokyo Banana. Like the feuilletine version, this is shaped like pants! Intense banana-cream flavor that's candy-like at first but gets very real. Not too sweet with a nice, nutty chocolate exterior. Only a few weeks 'til I can taste the real thing! @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: Pops with Smarties. Not a flavor per se, but I think this mix is actually really appealing. The dense chocolate of the Smarties punctuates the lighter, crispy Pops to create a variety of texture even though it’s all chocolate in the end. @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: yokubari double original + adult sweetness strawberry. Reminds me of strawberry Pocky with chocolate biscuits, although this could have used the cookie base that some Kit Kats have for balance. It's too sweet - I don't think it stuck the landing. @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: salted caramel. These are really good, even if maybe not as good as my memory of the salted caramel popcorn flavor? Smooth, creamy, milky. Just salty enough to be not over-sweet with a great tasting milk chocolate coating. Smells good, too! @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: black & white. Definitely not as milky as previous cookies & cream flavors. There's a really nice crunch from the cookie bits and the wafer/cookie layer is intensely chocolatey. The coating is thick and extremely rich, almost like buttercream. @emkitkats
The other is labeled for the Nordic countries as well as Germany, Austria and Portugal. Side by side, it tastes a lot better: roasty, slightly savory, but most importantly has a smooth chocolate flavor. Still quite sweet. Not the top hazelnut Kit Kat I've had but it's fine. (2/2)
Kit Kat face-off of the week: hazelnut (China vs. Nordic). My first Chinese Kit Kats! And they're very, very bad! There's a really off-flavor, almost Tootsie Roll-like & weirdly molassessy, which takes significantly away from the hazelnut. @emkitkats (1/2)
Snickers of the week, special edition: lime mousse. This was a gift, so I had to try it, but y'all, no. This is just a normal Snickers, with a kind of sweet lime overtone that's just barely-there enough to not really fit.
Kit Kat of the week: Baskin-Robbins chocolate mint ice cream. I feel like I'd only need to say something here if it didn't taste exactly like what it says on the wrapper, and let me tell you that it absolutely does. @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: dark (cocoa from Ecuador & Cote d’Ivoire), from Australia. Very simple flavors: dark cacao, sugar, just a hint of nuttiness. Sweet through to the finish. @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: gooey caramel. From Australia, this is notable for having a thicker chocolate coating than normal, and a fairly thick, chewy layer of caramel in it (the picture does not lie!). It's quite sweet, but if you like caramel you'll probably like this. @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: red and white. These did not survive the trip from Japan unmelted, do you don't get to see the horrorshow inside. They're duo-style, with white chocolate on top and original milk on the bottom, and taste like you'd expect: very, very sweet. @emkitkats
Kit Kat of the week: gold. This is the third flavor we've tried with this name and it's different from the UK and Brazilian versions in that it tastes more like smooth milk caramel rather than burnt-sugar topping. Milk chocolate layer at bottom. Nutty, mellow, yummy. @emkitkats
