It’s pretty insane. Some of the OGs I’ve talked to who have been in crypto for ages are acting as if crypto is done, whenever there’s any sort of positive price action, they have run for the doors mentality. In many ways, similar to the post ICO boom or the fallout from FTX.
That feels like the current state of where we are, which leads me to believe we’ve had the proper washout we needed. The get rich quick founders have mostly been washed out, and what’s left are the core believers + seeds planted for onchain finance to bleed into the real world.
Which makes me think we’re going to see a lot of new products being built, new talent, and a much healthier cycle.
We’re roughly halfway through a 30 year tech cycle that started in 2009 when Bitcoin launched. The first phase is where the biggest multiples are made, the second is where the most money is made, and the final phase is where the space consolidates into big players.
I believe we’re firmly in the second phase of crypto’s tech cycle. It’s time to build again.

Genesis story matters.
In the best way possible, Hyperliquid is starting to feel like a radical online cult building a digital cathedral for global finance.
It’s amusing seeing all these centralized crypto companies buy $HYPE to signal alignment to the community as if it’s tribute.
I don’t recall this ever happening with any asset other than $BTC.
Beyond the obvious flows benefit, the practical implication here is that an increasingly wide and powerful network of people and institutions in the crypto ecosystem are all highly incentivized to make Hyperliquid a massive success.
I honestly believe this dynamic wouldn’t exist if Hyperliquid didn’t do a fair launch and rekindle crypto’s original spirit.
My bet is this will remain a compounding advantage for Hyperliquid well into the future.

Hyperliquid brings hope to those who believed in the vision of “future of France” . It’s not that the vision is wrong, it’s just that before Hyperliquid we didn’t have a team that’s both capable and have the right alignment. Love to see the house of finance happening!
