Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced the measure ahead of the general election taking place right now. The new executive order appeared to explicitly ban fixed odds betting, including sports betting and online casinos, but it was left unclear whether Brazilian poker was impacted. Gambling operators in the country had already started to stop offering their sports and casino services. Read more below.

In these cases, time and time again @padspoker is a real OG for the poker community! He is the one listing to all player feedback, taking reports serious and connecting with the sites to make online poker better. He was the one going above and beyond with the @CoinPoker_OFF security team, to make sure the Paul Gregg case gets solved! 💯
Very proud of the @CoinPoker_OFF security team, who caught Paul Gregg 2+ years ago and refunded Ignacio Moron and others 100,000$+. I remember them asking @padspoker & me for additional advice, as it was very hard to make sense of it. The trickiest part was that Paul Gregg was a decent player so spotting it was not easy. However the data was quite clear and crushing one of the best HU players seemed impossible. Ban & refunding the other players seemed like the only option. Paul Gregg even continued to lie and threatend after his funds got confiscated...
