Can't wait for these to come to 🇨🇦
The two v1 model is doing their jobs. Keeping my den and bedroom comfortable in winter & summer. It's an easy fix for work that would require new HVAC ducting or minisplits + new insulation to do right at many times the cost. Gradients have cut our natural gas use by about 1/3.

Yeah I got quoted $16k to install minisplits for two rooms. I went with Gradient for $2k/room (at the time, now $3800). Subsidy program must have been generous.

I have not looked at the Gen 2, but Gen 1 was an air to water heat pump (refrigerant only in the outdoor unit). If they kept the same design it would be impressive. I recently saw a split whole home heat pump system with water as the energy transfer medium in the line sets.

Note that @gradientcomfort recently released new v2 model that's rated for colder temps, better airflow, and quieter operation. Some info: nitter.net/JesseJenkins/status/17… They're taking preorders now but Gradient seems mostly focused on commercial market (multi-family buildings) for now.
Fyi, @GradientComfort just launched a 2nd gen of their window mounted heat pump, now rated to -7°F, and are setting price at $3800. Units plug in to normal 120V outlet (no electrician or panel upgrades!) and easy to install yourself (+a friend for lifting) fastcompany.com/90979556/the…
