A West Yorkshire firefighter and FBU member was seriously injured at work, struck by a passing lorry as he closed the door of his fire engine at an incident.
He suffered a severe injury to his hand and, despite years of treatment, ultimately required amputation of his finger.
Thanks to specialist prosthetic support and a significant settlement secured by Thompsons, he's now back doing the job he loves.
FBU national officer Tam MacFarlane said, "The FBU is proud to represent firefighters and, with the help of Thompsons, we are determined to fight and win for them wherever they are based in the UK”.

The FBU received a Certificate of Excellence at the Hazards Conference for our DECON campaign and for securing a commitment to health monitoring from the government.
FBU health and safety committee and national officer Adam Taylor met today for their quarterly meeting. Tomorrow, they'll be attending a full day training session on lithium-ion batteries and hydrogen fuel vehicles.
