I don’t mean to ruin the mood, but that live was genuinely a tough watch, especially because of the live comments
I’m still baffled by the sheer cruelty of people who will go as far as using translators to comment in 2 additional languages, on top of their own, just to tell a member to leave his own group all for the sake of making sure he can read their words. That’s to me not just mindless hate or thoughtless commenting; it’s am effort to make someone feel unwelcome and hurt them on a personal level. The fact that they’re willing to go to such lengths just to make sure their words reach him is so beyond disturbing
I’m glad we were all doing our best to drown out that hatred by flooding the comments with kind words instead. We couldn’t control what those vile people chose to say, but we at least made an effort to ensure that their cruelty wasn’t the only thing visible. He deserves to feel welcomed and supported, not made to feel like he doesn’t belong in his own group
