i need to make a few points
mass adoption not happening quicker is not a bad thing; it gives time for proper UI, UX, and most importantly SECURITY to be built and refined
imagine there was 10x the amount of people in this space with all the recent exploits accelerated by AI..
that would be even more detrimental to everyones holdings
and lets be honest; most people get into crypto because they want to 100x what they put in and turn it back out into fake monopoly printed fiat currency
not because of the underlying technology that allows anyone on the planet to debank themselves and freely transact with true self custody
SO ANYWAY
a lot of people do not realize the amount of diligence, the amount of research, that goes down in the REAL TRENCHES (not the KOL "trenches")
im talking about the 4am hacker house DDoS attacks, the extensive research through thousands of lines of code not sleeping for 4 days without eating or showering, the collaboration of minds coming together asking for NOTHING in return
so yea. you can regurgitate the constant "keep clicking" "whats the ticker" "give me whitelist" "when airdrop"
or you can wake the fuck up and realize whats happening. build. educate. execute. maintain. optimize. scale.
actually change lives
with that said, nothing is 100% secure. nothing. anyone that tells you otherwise is lying through their teeth
but that is why we ALL have to do better
building the next layer of finance, internet, and self custodial asset management isnt a walk in the park
from developers to users, the liability lays with ALL of us
and that gap between AI and humans is going to widen very quickly if action isnt taken
millions in NFTs could have been ripped from peoples wallets by a malicious actor in the past few days from the Magic Eden exploit
but thankfully it was exploited first by
@0xQuit who actually gives a shit about real value
who used his knowledge for something positive
the same energy
@RoscoKalis brought to web3 when he built revoke cash
the same energy myself and my amazing team at Wallet Guard executed upon to help users save tens of millions from wallet drainers before being acquired by MetaMask (thereafter saving hundreds of millions)
these people do this for free
they dont ask for anything in return
and through all the misinformation, heres the clean cut breakdown
i employ wallet segregation, cold storage, consistent opsec in both web2 and web3; but even i was affected from an open approval on one of my wallets where i had a bored ape
this is not a software wallet issue. this is not a hardware wallet issue. its the nature of EVM and how approvals are handled, onchain
in this case a smart contract approval issue tied directly to Magic Eden; showing the importance of preemptively maintaining deployed contracts to actively protect against these types of threats
if you have open approvals on your wallets revoke them via
revoke.cash
approval contract on ethereum to revoke 0x9A1D00bEd7CD04BCDA516d721A596eb22Aac6834
approval contract on ape chain to revoke 0x9a1D00000000fC540e2000560054812452eB5366
if you had NFTs removed from your wallet via the exploited open approval check
nftsaresafu.xyz to recover them
to confirm, the assets were safely moved to 0x71cf3f5724bd2b72ef6464992acd26216de7fe33 when the exploit was discovered
its time to stop thinking "well its not going to happen to me"
because its a matter of time before it does
and the real ones in the space want to make sure you are ready for it when it happens
no i dont have the next ticker
no i dont care about the next mint
no i dont have the 1000x formula
but i greatly appreciate your time and energy for reading this
we will never stop building for good, even if nobody is listening until they are forced to
stay safe, stay vigilant, and strive to educate
thank you to the security advocates that dont hear it enough
to the ones that actually deserve the success
