Seems like a post-Trump 2016 thing to me. Certain levels of toxicity no longer feel like something we should just push past and ignore. Even if it’s not specifically political.
I think a lot of people want to believe deep down that everyone is good and life is nice. And a lot of evil is allowed to happen because of this desire. And when you tell people this, they stop inviting you to things.

Yeah I think the doc Predators is a MUCH more thoughtful and thorough exploration of the subject matter, but as a sort of Ace in the Hole riff starring two actors I adore, I had a great time with it.
