The other much easier way to handle it is to set your keyboard to international (doesn't change much at all), then hit Shift + ' (this gives you a loaded ") then hit a.
This will add ä in like 3 clicks, no copy/paste needed.
Ways to resolve this mechanic:
- The anglicized "doppelgaenger" variation of the word works (recommended method)
- Alt+0228 on numpad will produce the letter " ä "
- Have the letter " ä " pre-copied to your clipboard and use the ctrl+v paste command

I am TRULY amazed at the number of people going "Yeah, just use alt codes" and then requiring you to memorize numbers and assuming you have a numpad.
"Whoa who doesn't have numpads?!" a lot of smaller laptops, and people with limited size desks who don't want a 3 mile long board

Here.
Go.
Be better typists.
Stop using bloody alt codes or copy/pasting in #FFXIV new Keybound Brawler. Use bloody the international keyboard setting on your computer dammit! It's like 2-3 clicks, way smoother, you don't remember any numbers and simple to use!

It's KeyBOUND Brawler, not KeyBOARD Brawler. It's a #FFXIV stream.

Reminder Gateway Fate is this weekend! An Unofficial Final Fantasy Fan Event at the St. Charles Convention Center. Gidson and I will be hosting a FFXIV PvP Lan Event during the entire time where attendees can play CC, FL and Dueling! If you want an easy time, make sure to upload your character setting to the FFXIV servers and/or take photos of your hot bars before coming!! Everyone will be able to log into their characters unless you absolutely do not want to, we have some fill characters.
If you want be a sweaty tryhard, feel free to bring your mices, controllers and maybe even a keyboard if you want LOL.
Tickets are still for sale for the convention if you are in the area or want to travel out for this!!

Today's Museum Monday feature is Softly’s Art Gallery!
Softly's Art Gallery presents paintings of Eorzea's vistas and views from far beyond! Come enjoy the Gridanian styled gallery space as we update our displayed art collection throughout the year.

ALT An immersive display modeled on Heritage Found. On the wall is a fish print of the Goldentail eel and in a fish tank resting on a multitude of black electrope storage containers is a Thundering Redbelly fish.
ALT A view of one wall of Softly’s Art Gallery. The dimly lit gallery displays several prints of art showcasing various locales in Heritage Found on a minimalist and elegant wood backdrop.

Picking Beasts for Board 1, third degree, of the Crucible.
The first of a series of videos breaking down the strategy of a B1D3 clear, I start by putting together a team and explaining the choices along the way. #FFXIV

We're done! No stream on Monday as I'll be traveling, and no stream next FRIDAY as I'll be at @gatewayfate.bsky.social (which you should go too).
So probably squeeze in a stream or two Tuesday/Wednesday.
As always, the VODs are up on the other channel. youtube.com/@Snacky_Fruits
Mahjong and Beastmaster and Fishing and whatever else we feel like doing today in #FFXIV but mostly those three things and realistically the first two because thats what I feel like doing the most but who knows.

Because this won't be clear to some folks - the Deep Dungeon "Clear any floor of the Palace of the Dead 4 times" is no just a single floor, but sets of 10. So 40 floors, in total. #FFXIV
ALT The mogtome log showing no completion for "Clear any floor of the Palace of the dead 4 times" despite fruity snacks being on floor 6.
