Our goal is to put Forus in every doctor’s office in the country and accelerate the medicine pipeline from discovery to treatment. Last week our rep from @tryramp dropped off a 40" pair of red-handled scissors with the @forus logo on the blade. They are very sharp. Day ones know we originally incorporated as Red Scissor, Inc. (to cut through red tape for our users), and I still use my original Ramp card from before our name change. Such a fun gift, going on our office wall!

We weren’t planning to raise our Series C. The business was expanding faster than we could build capacity, and our investors saw it firsthand. They responded with more capital to help us scale the network faster. That speed matters beyond meeting demand, though. We recently met a 50-provider urology group that had stopped treating certain cancers because getting patients on prescribed therapies had become operationally unsustainable. At a critical point in their diagnosis, patients were turned away and left to find another specialist, potentially hours away, creating delays and increasing the risk that treatment never begins. Forus automates the process between prescription and treatment so practices can continue treating patients with the most serious conditions. Some companies start earning revenue the week they launch. The companies @MattHdeJonge and I chose to build required multiple years of work before the first dollar. This week, we were at MIT and Harvard to talk about why we started our companies and chose to build them this way. Applying AI to consequential problems requires understanding and rebuilding the full stack, not putting a model behind an existing workflow. For @fortellresearch, that meant years of R&D. For @forus, it meant solving a chicken-and-egg network across doctors, patients, and biopharma before the business model could prove itself. Investors like @ThriveCapital gave us the capital and credibility to pursue problems that would take years to solve but could produce an enormous payoff for society. The conversation ultimately came back to students asking which problems are worth spending years of your life solving. Matt captured that choice with the question that pushed him to leave Bridgewater: “If I were given a terminal diagnosis tomorrow, would I feel proud of how I had spent my time on earth?”

AI labs figured out that curing cancer could be pretty good for the brand.
