btw if you ever think of converting your framer site into Next.js which helps improving the site performance, feel free to use framertonextjs.com..
and ofcourse you can host it on your own vercel account and yeah you get MCP too so that you can just use your own claude/codex account to make changes in site and dont have to buy credits that runs out in 3 fuckin prompts lol
and ofcourse you wont be payying 120$/year just to add a 3rd CMS collection.. just add as many as you want. Have a nice day ahead
I cancelled my Framer subscription.
By the end I was only paying for hosting and dev, but here are the things that turned me off:
- Framer sites all feel like they came out of the same library with same scroll effects, same reveals and same rhythm
- The canvas and workspace feel too far from the tools I actually love working in. Figma, Wonder, Paper.
- Analytics get much more serious the moment you host on Vercel instead (I didnโt event know before I did so)
- Sound effects are still painfully limited
- Animations are faster and cleaner to build with Claude and Figma than they ever were in Framer
I feel like it's a tool focused on templates that are easily accessible to everyone, rather than on craft that takes time and pattion
Not saying it's a bad tool. It's just not my cup of tea anymore.

i just saved $1000's of dollars of my client who came for a @framer website development project
so i was sleeping as usual and it was 4AM when i woke up (i usually wake up at 4-5am just to check my phone and then sleep again in 2-3 mins)
so i saw a notification from a lead through @contra he wanted @figma to framer for a 6 page site, designs were ready and start was asap. i replied and then slept again and woke up at 7 and he paid $1250 and we started.
within 48 hours, i delivered and after few iterations the site is live and project is delivered.
they have more than 10 cms collections so they were about to pay a hell lot of money to a company that doesn't even care about people who made them what they are today (template creators)
