The very best leaders know that this is why you support and lift people up when they β€˜make mistakes’, rather than ridicule & dismiss them. There is always insight to be found in an adverse outcome - it’s also the cornerstone of the very best creative art. #art #science

Einstein's method wasn't about finding people who were "right." It was about finding people who could see beauty in being wrong - who could explore impossible ideas until they became possible. This is the cornerstone of theoretical physics.

Saddest news to hear. Gemma was a titan, the like of whom we are rarely privileged to see and hear. The world is darker for the loss of her kindness, advocacy and humanity. Go well Gemma πŸ’•
It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of Professor Gemma Carey (@gemcarey) and express our deepest sympathies with her family and friends. Gemma was a professor of public health and social research at the University of NSW, a passionate disability, women’s health and chronic disease advocate, and a talented non-fiction writer. Gemma became severely Covid vaccine-injured from her first AstraZeneca shot in early 2021. As she improved, she understood the importance of her expertise in advocating for policy reform and evidence-led medicine connecting unprecedented rates of Covid vaccine reactions, long covid and ME/CFS research - to address all people left behind by the pandemic. This work included an article with CoVerse on the shortcomings of the Australian Government's COVID-19 Vaccine Compensation Scheme. coverse.org.au/2024/08/compe… Our community are extremely grateful for her humane, deliberative, and ethical rigour as a researcher, as she pursued her personal recovery with the same tenacity she brought to her life and research. So many of us were touched by Gemma’s struggle and recovery journey and we encourage anyone feeling affected by her loss to please take time to process this news and reach out for support such as @LifelineAust. Given this news broke so very suddenly we would appreciate it if our community refrained from speculation about the details of her death, so that the family can be given time to respond to this loss at their own pace.

Sometime the system DOES work. Well done High Court of Australia #COVID #auspol
🧡 1. Three doctors who were suspended for issuing fake COVID vax exemptions have attempted to overturn their suspensions in the High Court of Australia! The High Court refused to let the self-represented doctors file their application, on grounds it was an abuse of process

Funny! :)
A few months ago when the #ToxicBritishPress stood outside this NYC tattoo parlor & embarrassed themselves by grilling Josh Lord a/b why Prince Harry was inside? Well here it is. Harry was doing a promotional video 4 the upcoming #InvictusGames!

I'm not the biggest tennis fan, but I know that this is the way that good people speak to each other, even when they are rivals. Well done to both for bringing more kindness, as well as incredible talent, into the world. πŸ‘πŸ‘
Vamos, @RafaelNadal! Β  As you get ready to graduate from tennis, I’ve got a few things to share before I maybe get emotional. Β  Let’s start with the obvious: you beat meβ€”a lot. More than I managed to beat you. You challenged me in ways no one else could. On clay, it felt like I was stepping into your backyard, and you made me work harder than I ever thought I could just to hold my ground. You made me reimagine my gameβ€”even going so far as to change the size of my racquet head, hoping for any edge. Β  I’m not a very superstitious person, but you took it to the next level. Your whole process. All those rituals. Assembling your water bottles like toy soldiers in formation, fixing your hair, adjusting your underwear... All of it with the highest intensity. Secretly, I kind of loved the whole thing. Because it was so uniqueβ€”it was so you. Β  And you know what, Rafa, you made me enjoy the game even more.Β  Β  OK, maybe not at first. After the 2004 Australian Open, I achieved the #1 ranking for the first time. I thought I was on top of the world. And I wasβ€”until two months later, when you walked on the court in Miami in your red sleeveless shirt, showing off those biceps, and you beat me convincingly. All that buzz I’d been hearing about youβ€”about this amazing young player from Mallorca, a generational talent, probably going to win a major somedayβ€”it wasn’t just hype. Β  We were both at the start of our journey and it’s one we ended up taking together. Twenty years later, Rafa, I have to say: What an incredible run you’ve had. Including 14 French Opensβ€”historic! You made Spain proud... you made the whole tennis world proud. Β  I keep thinking about the memories we’ve shared. Promoting the sport together. Playing that match on half-grass, half-clay. Breaking the all-time attendance record by playing in front of more than 50,000 fans in Cape Town, South Africa. Always cracking each other up. Wearing each other out on the court and then, sometimes, almost literally having to hold each other up during trophy ceremonies. Β  I’m still grateful you invited me to Mallorca to help launch the Rafa Nadal Academy in 2016. Actually, I kind of invited myself. I knew you were too polite to insist on me being there, but I didn’t want to miss it. You have always been a role model for kids around the world, and Mirka and I are so glad that our children have all trained at your academies. They had a blast and learned so muchβ€”like thousands of other young players. Although I always worried my kids would come home playing tennis as lefties. Β  And then there was Londonβ€”the Laver Cup in 2022. My final match. It meant everything to me that you were there by my sideβ€”not as my rival but as my doubles partner. Sharing the court with you that night, and sharing those tears, will forever be one of the most special moments of my career. Β  Rafa, I know you’re focused on the last stretch of your epic career. We will talk when it’s done. For now, I just want to congratulate your family and team, who all played a massive role in your success. And I want you to know that your old friend is always cheering for you, and will be cheering just as loud for everything you do next. Β  Rafa that! Β  Best always, your fan,
 Roger

OUR HERO OF THE DAY IS... Mackenzie Scott, the ex-wife to Jeff Bezos. This week Elon Musk said Scott was destroying western civilization by donating hundreds of millions to women charities and causes. Her response, was to double her donations! Your thoughts?

Why is the media never called out by the media for the same behavior they dump all over others for? That’s not double standards it’s NO standards. #auspol

Go you good thing! Someone needs to bury those Murdoch rags, and Prince Harry may just be the man to do it. Standing up for yourself & your family in the face of enormous public and financial pressure is admirable. To say nothing of the sh*t his birth family has thrown their way.
And when you see β€œthe scum” attacking him and his wife know why . Trying to intimidate him in to dropping the case . He is taking it all the way , this is the case his father demanded he drops or loose allowance. He don’t give a fuck. I Stan . Get them Harry .

Best News Ever @MFWitches , in case you didn’t see already 🀣
I beat Kyle again in my final ratings today. So I'll forever live rent free in his head. I'm his white whale; his tormentor; the last face he sees at night and first face he sees each morning. When he strolls on the beach at night, the wind will whisper "Sammy J".

Voted against the Misinformation and Disinformation Bill because I believe in free speech and don’t trust governments to define and determine the truth. The Bill is also self-serving because it doesn't apply to the Government's mates in mainstream media. #auspol #politas
