A downtown Seattle worker was on a break on a Friday afternoon, and was randomly attacked by a mentally disturbed individual. After screaming slurs, the attacker began physically assaulting the victim and bit a "chunk" out of the victim's forehead like a zombie from The Walking Dead. It happened just a couple blocks away from where another mentally disturbed individual blinded a 75 yr old woman with a 'spiked board', also a random attack. These attacks are shocking, but not surprising. Seattle Mayor Wilson claimed her 'Gun Violence Prevention Plan' was endorsed by King County Prosecutor Leesa Manion. Except that turns out to be a lie. "KCPAO spokesperson Casey McNerthney said the office was not given a full copy of the plan before its rollout, and that Prosecuting Attorney Leesa Manion and her staff first learned about it by watching the announcement on television. ...The mayor’s office later told KIRO Newsradio KCPAO had provided quotes supporting the plan when KCPAO said they did not." What actually happened was Community Assisted Response and Engagement Chief Amy Barden asked King County Prosecutor Manion for a quote endorsing CARE. "Manion agreed with the stipulation that her quote not be edited and be shared in full." CARE Chief Barden then gave Manion's quote about CARE to the Mayor's Office, who then used it as an endorsement of Wilson's entire gun violence plan: See for yourself here: wilson.seattle.gov/2026/09/1… As if that wasn't bad enough; the Mayor also claimed to have the support of the US Attorney's Office. Seattle Mayor's Public Safety Director Alison Holcomb ran away from KOMO's Jeremy Harris after Tuesday's Public Committee Hearing, where it came out that the Mayor lied about who delayed information to the public after the Bite. Hard to fault her, since it seems to be the Mayor's favorite tactic to avoid accountability from the media. More importantly though; Jeremy Harris does a great job of further explaining "why it matters": "Up to this point, much of the blame has been placed on Seattle police for not giving out those critical updates. What we now know, it was in fact the Mayor's second in command who ordered police to not get in front of TV cameras and start giving updates to the public about what was going on." "The reason why we keep pressing on this issue is because its about truth, and its about the bigger overall question about transparency." -Fox13's Hana Kim, on the revelation that Mayor Katie Wilson lied about the response to the Bite Shooting. In testimony to the Seattle Council's Public Safety Committee, SPD Chief Tyrone Davis (who was in charge of the scene) laid out exactly what happened including how Deputy Mayor Brian Surratt would not allow him to inform the public what was happening, just 90 minutes after the shooting. He testified: "We were ready to go, and I was getting ready to walk [down to the waiting press]. I told the Deputy Mayor as a courtesy...and I was told we need to wait for the Mayor. I gave him alternatives, the first was that we do the presser now...and the press conference the next morning. I was still told to wait. I offered a second alternative which is that we do the presser now, and then maybe do one when the Mayor gets here...and I was also asked to wait." As Hana Kim explains; "That statement is significant because it contradicts what the Mayor said back in July." Making matters worse for Mayor Katie Wilson is the news that broke today, that she also lied about her 'gun violence prevention plan' having the backing of the King County Prosecutor and the US. The King County Prosecutor and U.S. Attorney both say they never saw Mayor Katie Wilson's gun violence plan before it was announced and learned about it on TV. The prosecutor's quote was used to endorse a plan she says she never reviewed.

This weekend, police across the Northwest will be doing "one more stop" emphasis patrols in honor of @wastatepatrol trooper Christopher Gadd. Gadd told a colleague he wanted to do one more stop before going on break. He was then killed by a drunk driver who was going 112mph down the shoulder of I-5. @komonews
