Looking around the league the 2 teams i wonder about are Chicago & Minnesota as a Old D-man for a Young D-man deal
Minny is playing Daemon Hunt & Matt Kierstad at 2nd & 3rd LD while Chicago has Ian Cole in their Top 4
Getting a Spacek or Korchinski would be solid options imo
Elliotte Friedman on 32 Thoughts says he assumes the Leafs 'A' assets include the COL 1st and a couple of their top prospects not in the NHL.
Some people think that with the pressure Toronto faces that they'll do something panicky, but they aren't interested in that.
Some have also interpreted the 'older-for-younger' on D as some of their older D are available. If you're a team looking for some of their older defenseman, they'll do that as long as the return is younger.
“not sure you’re going to get three [penalties] in a row, especially when two are really similar” sorry, what lmao
take note kids, if you’ve already slashed two players you can now just keep doing it no problem because the officiating in this sport is purely vibes

If Toronto makes a move for a younger LHD before November is out, I’d like to see them try these pairs:
McCabe - Raddysh
X - Blankenburg
Rielly - Tanev
With your bottom four getting mixed and matched depending on the situation.
Jeff Blashill on his message to Kevin Korchinski: "He's got to stay with it and just practice hard and be great in practice every day..."
What have you thought of his practicing?
"Wasn't good enough today... One or two plays really jump out at you. Needs to make sure he's super crisp and on it and putting himself in position to be successful when he goes in."
142 defense pairings have played 25+ minutes together at 5v5 so far this season.
Rielly-Stecher rank:
- 133rd in shot attempt share (33.9%)
- 138th in expected goal share (24.9%)
They're getting titled nightly, it's an untenable second pair.
By January the Leafs should have at minimum 2-3 new defensemen in the line-up, Who? idk that’s up to Chayka but spotting young under-utilized talent was something he has done well with so far
Does Morgan Rielly box out well? No.
Okay, but does he generate a lot of offense? Also no.
Ya, but does he have a booming slap shot? Well, no he doesn’t.
Fair enough, does he have good gap control? Well not really no.
Okay but does he throw the body? Well n-
