Born 1962. A fairly cantankerous old fellow with a real passion for Falklands history.

Stanley, Falkland Islands
Its funny how suddenly all those experts on the share prices of Navitas and Rockhopper in argetina have stopped screaming "we've got you" - "we are winning" and "Falklands oil will never happen as share prices are in free fall" and have now gone very quiet. Something wrong chaps ? (just asking for a friend). Best wishes from the free Falklands

Today was our first genuinely splendidly sunny day of the season here in the Falklands. As the afternoon wore on the fog and mist moved in and temperatures dropped but tomorrow is also meant to be a right bobby-dazzler🌞 😎

What an absolutely glorious evening we are enjoying here in the Falklands. Even I am starting to dare to hope that spring has finally sprung

Thank you to the UK Prime Minister, @andyburnham, for his robust statement to the @HouseofCommons, reiterating the UK's strong support for the Falkland Islands and our right to self-determination. #Falklands #SelfDetermination 🇬🇧🤝🏻🇫🇰

With the tourist season about to really get going here in the Falklands its great to see the Wool Shed Shop now has an online presence. Selling goods made from high quality Falklands wool, it is surely worth a visit when in Stanley. The Falkland Islands Tourist boards Jetty visitor centre also sells yarns and goods made from Falklands wool store.wool.co.fk/s/shop

I believe that we may be somewhere around day 7 of 14 of aunty Milly's grand "ultimatum". I didn't post anything yesterday as nothing too much seemed to be happening here in the Falklands. Today is pretty much the same - but before any amigos start leaping up and down and thinking they have won and we have stopped all infrastructure works, there is a far more boring reason. Yesterday was Sunday and most folks were having a days rest and today is a holiday in the Falklands (peat cutting Monday) and whilst most folk wont be cutting peat they do enjoy having the day free. Today I shall leave you with some snaps that my wife got of a happy birdie that was staring through our window this morning as coffee was being made.

After some pretty rough seas, it was great to get some fresh air and solid ground beneath our feet! 🌊⚓️ Some of HMS MEDWAY’s Ship’s Company visited the HMS COVENTRY Memorial, while others enjoyed a stroll along the beach and the scenery of Pebble Island. 🇬🇧 #HMSMedway

I know that it probably doesn't take much to rock my boat nowadays but I am impressed by this. We have basically had rain/mist and fog all day here in the Falklands and we seem to be at the Southern end of a band of "moist" weather that stretched right up and over Brazil.

I do believe that day five of fourteen of old Aunty Milly's great ultimatum is almost drawing to a close and its very much business as usual here in the Falklands. Yesterday I hinted that something may be happening on the water (and under it) - I hope those on the coast have taken some sedatives before they look :-)

Day four of Aunty Millys great ultimatum and it would seem as if those naughty people here in the Falklands aren't taking a bit of notice. How rude of them. On land everything roars on apace and things may be starting to happen on the sea as well. Of course, not wanting to upset our sensitive chums on the coast, I shall not say what, so will leave you a photo of the dear old Lady Liz - but - watch this space, as they say.
