Here’s how I would solve the homeless situation in LA with one decision.
I would cut the “homeless budget” from almost $1B to just $20m.
The non-profits would dissolve because there’s no more money to steal, resulting in a lack of free drugs/tents/etc that keeps the homeless on the streets and encourages those from other cities and states to come camp out here.
Reduction in the homeless would follow.
Did you know that the "homeless budget" for LA City was just $10m in 2013? Karen Bass' predecessor, Mayor Eric Garcetti inflated that to an incredible $955m in 2021. More than NINETY TIMES the 2013 budget. Bass has continued this spend.
THIS is why there is so much homelessness and so much fraud in LA. You have to keep the homeless on the street to justify the "solution" non-profits. And those non-profits want the money to keep rolling. Hence, no solution will ever happen.
Cut off the money and the homeless situation will greatly decrease.

It's odd- I remember all sorts of people blocking roads, classrooms, and shutting down buildings wanting a cease fire. Now that it's about to be in place, I don't hear anything from them. Maybe because they wanted a victory for Hamas, and instead they got a beat down.
