I'm not an Elon hater.
I'm just telling you the Honest Truth:
This is a marketing stunt.
The technology is quite old.
Just nobody ever thought of bolting it on a car.
Because it's pointless.
Porsche or Ferrari could also build something like this if they wanted, but they don't, because it's not worth it for them.
It's worth it for Elon though, because his entire brand is all about having the halo of futurism.
His marketing scales especially well with tech gimmicks like this, which is why he is financially incentivised to do them, while others aren't.
Again, I'm not hating, but actually educating yall.
This is not engineering genius.
It's marketing genius.

I built Zoom like features without Zoom. π
This year, I built a real time audio and video calling system for an EdTech platform.
And no, users don't have to leave the platform to join a call.
Here's what I shipped:
1. Audio and video calls directly inside the platform.
2. Screen sharing for live lessons and presentations.
3. Reactions to make sessions more interactive.
4. Automatic call recordings that users can access after each session.
Everything happens in one place, from the live session to the recording.
This is the kind of engineering I love. Building features that solve real problems and make products more valuable.
And we're just getting started.
