Gib Meme is shutting down.
Since February, we've given away $100k+ in cash prizes to our users, funded entirely by memecard NFT mints used to play the game.
Our goal was to save NFTs by tying their value to something real, a cash prize. For a while, it worked. Floor prices stayed balanced, and our collection consistently ranked as a top seller by daily sales. But the model wasn't sustainable in the long term.
So we've made the decision to wind things down.
To everyone who played, minted, and showed up for tournaments: thank you. Genuinely. Building with you has been one of the highlights of our careers, and we don't take that lightly.
Gib Meme was a failed experiment. We wish it took on a different trajectory. But it didn't.
The site will remain for one more month before we take it offline.
