I wasn't on politics Twitter until last year, but one thing became obvious very quickly: The right only seems to love “free speech” when they're the ones speaking. The moment someone uses that same freedom to call out their racism, abuse, or wrongdoing, the threats of physical violence start. Some of the same people who claim they want to “protect women” are perfectly happy to abuse and threaten women when they don't like what they say or do. The same with children. They actively know I have them in my care but won't stop insulting them and talking about how people are coming to my house. What happened to "protect are children"? That isn't protecting women. This isn't protecting children. This isn't defending free speech. It's quite blatant hypocrisy. This has never been about principles. It's about demanding freedom for themselves while trying to silence anyone who challenges them by any means possible. And that is where the fascist mindset becomes obvious: freedom for themselves, suppression and hostility towards anyone who disagrees or stands up to them. You don't get to scream “free speech” while threatening people with physical violence for exercising it.
