Few people realise that the famous “Floating Islands” sequence from the @avatar movie was actually based on the rarely seen and almost totally unknown floating mountains of Glen Fillan, near Crianlarich in Scotland- which I was lucky enough to spot and photograph today!

Day 7 of 7 (at long last 😓) and so far it’s been an absolutely stunning trip over the West Highland Line to Oban. Glorious blue skies, warm sunshine and breathtakingly clear views, with the mountains all in 4K definition today! @ScotRail @FWHLines Now just to head back home!!
